The Staff of the Sauk County Health Department Receive 2022 SCIL Leadership Award

Since 2005, the Sauk County Institute of Leadership (SCIL) has presented the Sauk County Leadership Award to a resident or organization that has exhibited exemplary communication skills and the ability to empower and motivate others.

The award recipients are passionate people with the ability to spark enthusiasm and create a common vision.This Leadership Award was designed to celebrate and recognize all the leaders that help make Sauk County a great place to live, work and play.

The Staff of the Sauk County Health Department received the 2022 SCIL Leadership Award on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. Former Sauk County Director of Emergency Management, Jeff Jelinek, nominated the staff who rallied around the of the COVID-19 pandemic. In his nomination, Jeff said, “Leadership is tough as we all know. You are often times making decision that are not popular or understood.”

The staff were nominated because of the total team effort of coming together during the pandemic and enduring three changes in leadership. Jeff also stated “In fighting a pandemic, leadership is not one, it is a team effort”.
