Leadership Group Explores Real-Life Leadership Challenges

BARABOO, WISCONSIN; March 15, 2022— On March 10, Sauk County Institute of Leadership (SCIL) 2021-2022 participants met at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County for their monthly leadership training day. The topic of the day was The Shadow Side of Leadership: Conflict.

Curt Meine (conservation biologist, environmental historian and writer) and Mike Mossman (retired DNR ornithologist and conservationist) delivered a presentation about the history and challenges of transforming the Badger Army Ammunition Plant Property.

Past SCIL alumni were invited to join a special leadership lunch, featuring guest speaker Lea Culver (co-founder Culver Franchising Systems). Culver spoke about her role in founding and developing the Culver Franchise, as well as her experience and philosophy of leadership.

Rob Nelson (City of Baraboo Mayor and Sauk County Board Supervisor) later talked to SCIL participants about his experience and challenges as both a mayor and a county board supervisor.
