Culver’s Co-founder Speaks to Sauk Leaders

On Thursday March 10th the Sauk County Institute of Leadership (SCIL) held its first SCIL Connect Networking Lunch at the UW-Platteville Baraboo-Sauk County campus.  There were over 50 attendees, composed of members of the business community and current and former classmates.  Attendees had an opportunity to network and hear from Lea Culver as the keynote speaker.  Lea spoke passionately and candidly about her experiences during the early years of Culver’s as it established itself as a business within our communities and then expanded to other communities across the nation.  Her candid remarks as well the quotes that she used to illustrate her journey were inspiring and helped to crystalize the hallmarks of her leadership style.

Multiple attendees remarked about the quality of the event and how much they enjoyed it both personally and professionally.  Here are just a few comments from attendees:

“I loved the event today and hope you have more events like this in the future. I loved SCIL as it brought me together with people that I have never met before and this event proved to do the same thing. Great networking, great speaker.  Nice job.” - Nancy

“It was great to hear Lea Culver's story and perspective on Leadership. Thank You for organizing the event!” - Jean

“I enjoyed the luncheon today. Thank you. If you have another, I will attend. I really enjoyed talking with the people at my table. Thanks.”  - Char

Many thanks to the entire SCIL board for helping make this first year such a success. Here’s to many more such events as we work on “building a stronger community…one leader at a time.”
