Reconnect, Recharge, and Rediscover Your Leadership Potential
SCIL Class of 2019
Hey SCIL Alum,
Do you remember your walkabout at Durward's Glen?
Back in September 2019, I stepped into a walkabout partner role during the SCIL retreat. Six years later, I am still going on regular walktalks with that same partner. That is the lasting, profound power of connection within the Sauk County Institute of Leadership.
We are now recruiting for the next cohort starting in September 2026, and I want to invite you to consider something extraordinary: Come back and take SCIL again.
I’m often asked if alumni ever return. Other than myself (because I'm now facilitating the program), I’ve only had one repeat attendee—and he was from my 2014 class! I honestly believe returning is one of the best ways to elevate your leadership journey.
Earlier in my career with UW-Extension, I attended an intense facilitation program. I sucked at it. Years later, with more experience and confidence, I took it again. And again. In fact, I took it four times! I learned that repeating a top-tier program isn't about covering the same ground—it's about seeing the nuances you missed the first time because you were too busy trying to keep up.
Why Re-SCIL?
A New You: You are a different leader now than when you first graduated. You’ll process the content differently and learn more about your matured personal leadership capabilities.
10% Fresh: I strive to change 10% of the program every year to keep it different and relevant, meaning this will be a fresh experience.
New Chemistry: The magic of SCIL is in the cohort. A new group means new perspectives, new connections, and a totally new experience.
Reinvigorate Your Purpose: Get re-inspired, rediscover how good you really are, and re-invest in your passion for Sauk County.
I encourage you to consider this opportunity to reignite your leadership. Come back and experience the magic of SCIL through a more seasoned lens.
We’d love to see you again!
