If you live or work in the Sauk County and are interested in developing your leadership skills and making a difference in your community, SCIL may be just for you!
The Sauk County Institute of Leadership has openings limited to 25 people who represent a variety of backgrounds and interests. The cost of the program may be paid by the participant, employer, sponsor, or from a combination of sources. Limited scholarship assistance is available based on financial need.
What is Sauk County Institute of Leadership (SCIL)?
SCIL is a nine month leadership development program consisting of an initial two day retreat followed by eight one-day workshops and a graduation dinner.
SCIL brings together leaders from various segments of the community in a program that encourages and prepares participants for assuming leadership roles in their places of employment and in the Sauk County community.
The mission of SCIL is to help develop informed, civic-minded leaders who are committed to a vibrant Sauk County.
The cost includes the nine-month program, lunch on SCIL days, and all materials. Transportation to and from places visited in Sauk County is not provided by SCIL. Scholarships are available on a case by case basis.
How will Participants be Selected?
This application is the primary basis for selection. It will be reviewed by a subcommittee of the SCIL Board of Directors. All applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision.
The Selection Committee will review applications on the basis of the following criteria:
L Local involvement and commitment to the Sauk County community
E Evidence of learning
A Ability to commit to full participation in the program
D Dedicated to the mission of the Institute
E Eager to become involved in the community and willing to follow through on that commitment
R Recommendations which indicate leadership potential and/or characteristics
Acceptance to this program is not automatic and participation in the program is not guaranteed.
Sessions are held the second Thursday of each month September through May
